A Man's Grief
Many people believe that if you do not show or share
sadness and other emotions, you are not in touch with your grief. In
fact, grief is highly individual and people grieve in their own unique
way. Many men and some women express their grief in activity or
other ways and/or may prefer to grieve alone. Like all of the ways
of coping with loss, these styles can be helpful or unhelpful depending on
how they are used. But they are no more problematic than other
coping techniques and certainly do not mean that a person was not affected
by the loss. These articles explores these "masculine"
ways of coping.
